As I started at Fisher & More School (left) in 1959, the Boys school was to the right of the Arch, and the Girls to the left. The archway was empty  and only linked the two schools in those days. I loved school, but I never ever went back to it after I left in 1964.

My first year classroom can be seen on the 2nd Floor (Mike Higgins) by the 2nd and 3rd year my classroom was on the ground floor  below and next classroom to the right (Brian McDermott). The classroom showing here on the ground floor was the legendary Bill Clark's. Who whilst waving his cane was known to shout,  "I'll give the first one 2, the rest six, and you can sort the funny fella out outside"

After 40+ years, I can't quite remember whether the classroom that is lit up, or the one on the left of it, was my G.C.E years classroom (Science Laboratories, Joe Walsh). The building to the right I'm pretty sure was the Gymnasium. (.... added Aug 2007, I'm now pretty sure it was the classroom lit up, with the art room above it, and the Metal and Woodwork rooms to the left)

My classroom (lower 5th) just beyond the first two cars. (Bernard Traynor). I can remember being here one day when England were playing Australia at cricket and Bernard "faking" a History (possibly English) lesson by making us note who bowled what at whom etc. and we had to write a report as we went along. He listened to the match with us of course, just to "verify" we were accurate!. Great bloke.
School Hymn

Holy Bishop, Saint John Fisher,
Tower Dungeon could not tame
Isle of Saints and Mary's Dowry
Now in honour hold thy name.

Steadfast, true to Church and Priesthood,
E'en to death on tower Hill:
Teach thy children now with courage
In thy steps to follow still.

Thomas More, so noble, gentle,
Born to honour, wealth, renown;
Sacrificing Kingly favour
Chose instead the martyr's Crown

On the scaffold never faltered;
Had a jest for axe and block;
As in life, in death unaltered;
Faith as firm as Peter's rock.

Chancellor and saintly Bishop,
Leaders of that noble band
When on Tower Hill and Tyburn
Sacrificed for native land.

REFRAIN

Patrons, models, saints and martyrs,
We, your children, look to you,
Saints, whose Faith did never falter,
To the old Faith keep us true.

(Right) The School Hymn was reproduced from an original scan sent to me by  Mary.

I didn't think about it until now, but the writer  and the music creator, by the sound of their names, may have been my old Headmaster, "Fred" Hunt and his wife? or members of his family at least!

The first edition of the Girls School magazine. I suspect the boys were too busy getting up to mischief to create one, I don't remember there being one anyway!
